ISCII (Indian Script Code for Information Interchange) is an 8 bit encoding introduced by the Bureau of Indian Standards in 1991. The encoding is designed to help represent various languages spoken in India along with ASCII compatibility.


Contains 256 characters from Devanagari, Punjabi, Gujarati, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil languages.
